A European Perspective celebrates five years with record audience reach

10 July 2026

This month, A European Perspective marks five years of collaboration and innovation in digital journalism. What started in July 2021 as a shared editorial experiment in content exchange has grown into a lasting model for how European newsrooms work and innovate together, across languages and borders. Five years on, the project is reaching more readers than ever: with its new native publication system, members can now publish each other's content directly within their usual production feeds, with impressive results that bring monthly reads close to one million.

"Every year of this project has brought us tremendous milestones and developments, from our public service algorithm, to the news aggregator, or collaborative reports" says Alexiane Lerouge, Editorial Lead of A European Perspective. "This time we are celebrating with the success of our new native publication system. While it is being taken up progressively across the network these last few months, our first results show we have already tripled our daily audience and multiply our reach per story ten times."

"A European Perspective was born from the same vision as the EBU itself: that sharing knowledge across borders helps us understand one another better. In a world where global headlines shape the lives of all Europeans, this kind of exchange is no longer a nice to have; it is a must. And we have learned that in our connected world, collaboration is the new competition. Public service journalists collaborate in a dedicated hub with over 3,000 stories at their disposal daily. This project broadens perspectives while being the key to a thriving media future." says Justyna Kurczabinska, Head of News Strategy at the EBU.
